Abdelkhalek Marzouki, New Governor of the Casablanca-Anfa Prefecture: An Exemplary Career in the Service of the State

Born on October 1, 1957, in Casablanca, Abdelkhalek Marzouki holds a degree in Economics, a background that led him early into public administration, where he quickly distinguished himself through integrity and efficiency.

He began his career in 1980 at the General Directorate of Customs and Indirect Taxes as an inspector in the Rabat region. His rapid advancement reflected the recognition of his professional excellence and his deep understanding of Morocco’s economic and fiscal systems.

On May 28, 1994, he was assigned to Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca as customs inspector and authorizing officer, before being promoted to head of service at the Port of Casablanca on May 5, 1997. His career later took him to Tangier, where he successively served as head of the customs district and, in September 2005, as Regional Director for the Northwest. There, he contributed significantly to the modernization and streamlining of trade operations in this key region.

On January 2, 2009, Abdelkhalek Marzouki returned to Casablanca as Regional Director at the city’s port, before being appointed in September 2013 as Regional Director of Customs and Indirect Taxes. These high-level responsibilities strengthened his expertise in management, administrative coordination, and territorial governance.

In recognition of his dedication and loyalty, His Majesty King Mohammed VI appointed him on June 15, 2017, as Governor of the Province of Fahs-Anjra, a position he held with distinction, ensuring the implementation of public policies, promoting local development, and supporting the socio-economic growth of the northern region.

Today, his appointment as head of the Casablanca-Anfa Prefecture crowns a rich and exemplary career devoted to the State and its citizens. It also reflects the Sovereign’s renewed confidence in a senior official known for his integrity, diligence, and ability to combine administrative precision with a clear vision for development.
