Morocco-Mauritania: Action Program Signed in Rabat for Digital Transformation of the Judicial System

The program, signed by Morocco’s Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi, and his Mauritanian counterpart, Mohamed Ould Soueidatt, falls within the framework of the strategic partnership between the two countries in the field of justice. It reflects their shared commitment to making digital transformation a key lever to improve the quality of justice, bring services closer to citizens, and strengthen judicial transparency and efficiency.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ouahbi emphasized that his meeting with his Mauritanian counterpart “illustrates the joint commitment to consolidate cooperation between the two countries in the field of justice, given the importance of coordination and collaboration to address shared challenges and build a more effective judicial system.” He also reaffirmed his ministry’s willingness to share its experience in judicial management and digital transformation with the Mauritanian Ministry of Justice.

For his part, Minister Ould Soueidatt noted that exchanges of visits and experiences between officials from both ministries, along with other scheduled activities, will allow for the sharing of expertise and knowledge on the judicial sector’s priority issues in both countries.

On the sidelines of the signing, the two ministers held discussions on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas such as developing the judicial sector’s digital infrastructure, continuing education, institutional modernization, and the use of new technologies in judicial management.

At the conclusion of their talks, Ministers Ouahbi and Ould Soueidatt reaffirmed their commitment to continue coordinating efforts to implement the content of this joint action program, serving the interests of both countries and promoting South-South cooperation.
