General Prosecutor Launches Specialized Training on Financial Crimes for Judges and Judicial Police Officers

The opening session was chaired by Hicham Balaoui, Attorney General before the Court of Cassation and President of the Public Prosecution. In his speech, he emphasized that the protection of public funds is one of the most noble and demanding missions, requiring integrated legislative, judicial, and institutional mobilization. He noted that financial crimes are not limited to material impacts but also undermine the foundations of economic development, social cohesion, and public security.

Mr. Balaoui explained that the launch of this specialized training program aligns with the High Royal Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which stress the need to strengthen the performance of the judicial system through continuous and high-quality training for judges and all justice actors.

This program, spanning three months (October, November, and December 2025), aims to enhance the skills of judges and judicial police officers by providing the necessary legal and technical tools to address the evolving methods of financial crime. The program also relies on videoconferencing to enable broad participation from all jurisdictions across the Kingdom.

The President of the Public Prosecution underscored the strategic and essential nature of continuous training, which is crucial to consolidating the capacities of criminal justice actors, particularly in handling complex cases involving embezzlement of public funds, money laundering, and terrorist financing. These trainings also help establish a common professional language and strengthen operational cooperation between judges, judicial police officers, and other stakeholders in the fight against financial crimes.

In conclusion, Mr. Balaoui expressed his gratitude to all partners and experts involved in leading these sessions and called on prosecutors to continue their efforts in combating corruption and protecting public funds, with integrity, transparency, and dedication, in line with the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
