Laâyoune International Half Marathon: Kenya’s Keter Robert and Chepkoech Faith Win the 25th Edition

Keter Robert completed the 21 km race in 1h 00m 21s, ahead of fellow Kenyans Kipkoech Kosgei Barnabas (1h 01m 34s) and Dennis Kipkemboi (1h 02m 02s).

In the women’s race, Cherop Nancy took first place with a time of 1h 09m 37s, followed by Chepkoech Faith (1h 11m 54s) and Morocco’s Kaltoum Bouaasayria (1h 12m 11s).

The event was organized by the Chabab Sakia El Hamra Athletics Club under the supervision of the Royal Moroccan Athletics Federation (FRMA) and the Regional Athletics League, with the support of several partners. The competition lived up to expectations, attracting a large number of athletes from various countries.

Two parallel races were also held — a 3 km event for participants under 16, and a 5 km run for students from schools and universities — aiming to encourage athletic participation and bring the sport closer to younger generations.

At the end of the competition, awards were presented to the winners in the presence of the Wali of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region and Governor of the province of Laâyoune, Abdeslam Bekrate, along with several elected officials and consuls general from Arab and African countries accredited in Laâyoune.
