Morocco Emerges as a Leading Tourism Destination in Africa and the Middle East (Travel and Tour World)

In an article titled “Morocco shines in global tourism rankings as a top destination for 2025”, the publication highlights that the Kingdom is now recognized as one of the world’s best travel destinations and ranks among the top ten positions in multiple international tourism listings for 2025 and 2026.

TTW notes that Morocco has reached an important milestone by taking 13th place in the latest ranking published by UN Tourism. The magazine explains that this result reflects the country’s ongoing work to develop its tourism offer and infrastructure as well as the growing global appeal of the Moroccan destination.

“Son patrimoine exceptionnel, sa culture et son tourisme côtier enrichissent et diversifient l’expérience touristique dans le pays, qui ne cesse de se faire remarquer dans le monde entier”, writes the publication. It also points out that international travel awards and distinctions earned in recent years confirm the “réalisations exceptionnelles” and the “avancées notables” achieved by Morocco in the tourism sector, supported by rapid economic development.

The article also recalls that Morocco was recently named “destination of the year” in Brussels during the 2025 edition of the Travel Awards. According to TTW, this recognition reinforces the country’s tourism brand and confirms its potential to welcome a rising number of international visitors in the coming years.

Highlighting the strengths of Marrakech described as “the preferred winter getaway”, Fez as the Kingdom’s spiritual capital, Rabat as “a capital on the rise”, and Taghazout as “the Moroccan surfing paradise”, the magazine notes that Morocco is committed to securing long-term growth in the tourism sector while ensuring benefits reach local communities.

Government actions focused on infrastructure development, the promotion of responsible tourism and the preservation of Morocco’s unique cultural identity continue to strengthen the country’s position as a leading travel destination for the future, concludes TTW.
