This working session, marked by an exemplary spirit of partnership, allowed the two countries to exchange their visions and share their expertise in the organization of major sporting events.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa warmly welcomed the Senegalese delegation, recalling the strength of Moroccan-Senegalese relations. He then presented a comprehensive overview of the progress made in preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
The significant progress in sports infrastructure, stadium modernization, logistical improvements and preparation of host cities was highlighted as proof of Morocco’s ability to host a CAN of an unprecedented level.
Impressed by the level of organization and the effectiveness of the preparations, Mr. Mamadou Diagna Ndiaye expressed his satisfaction at visiting Morocco at this crucial stage. He praised what he described as “the remarkable quality of the facilities and the great expertise of the Kingdom”, expressing Senegal’s desire to benefit from this experience ahead of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
The two delegations agreed to set up regular joint workshops between the two committees in order to strengthen bilateral coordination, ensure ongoing exchanges of expertise and consolidate the foundations of a lasting partnership.
The visit concluded with a tour of the Mohammed VI Complex, where the Senegalese delegation discovered world-class facilities that confirmed Morocco’s position as a continental hub for training and sports organization.
