5% Growth in 2025: The Moroccan Economy on an Upward Trajectory

The Moroccan economy is moving toward a phase of notable acceleration, with growth projected at 5% in 2025, before stabilizing at an average of around 4.5% over the following two years, according to the latest forecasts by Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).

In its statement issued following the fourth quarterly meeting of its Board in 2025, the central bank specifies that this performance would be driven in part by a recovery in the agricultural sector. Under the assumption of a return to average cereal harvests of around 50 million quintals, agricultural value added would increase by 5% in 2025, then by 4% in 2026 and 2% in 2027.

Non-agricultural activities, for their part, are expected to maintain a solid trajectory, supported in particular by the strength of investment. Their growth is thus projected at 5% in 2025, before reaching 4.8% in 2026 and 4.5% in 2027, confirming the resilience of the structural drivers of the national economy.

On the monetary front, Bank Al-Maghrib has decided to keep its key policy rate unchanged at 2.25%. The institution stresses that it will continue to closely monitor developments in the economic situation and adjust its decisions, meeting after meeting, based on the most recent data available.
