The deployment of this health facility is part of the High Solicitude with which the Sovereign constantly surrounds rural populations, particularly those living in mountainous areas confronted with difficult climatic conditions and a significant drop in temperatures at this time of year.
With a capacity of around 300 consultations per day, the military field hospital set up in Tounfite reflects the commitment of the Royal Armed Forces to support populations most exposed to cold waves. To this end, the Royal Armed Forces mobilized significant material and logistical resources, as well as several teams composed of doctors, nurses and specialized technicians, ensuring a rapid response to the medical needs of the target population.
The military field hospital in Tounfite provides a wide range of specialized medical services, covering general medicine, internal medicine, gynecology obstetrics, pediatrics, ophthalmology, ENT, dental surgery, visceral surgery and traumatology.
This hospital unit is equipped with a broad range of medical services and advanced equipment, including a pharmacy, a radiology department, a medical analysis laboratory, an emergency unit, a resuscitation room, two hospitalization wards for men and women, and an operating theater allowing the management of various medical and surgical cases, including emergencies.
To further expand access to care and connect patients with specialist doctors remotely, the Tounfite military field hospital provides telemedicine services allowing real time medical consultations, in coordination with the various military hospitals.
In statements to MAP, several beneficiaries expressed full satisfaction with the quality of the services provided by the medical staff, noting that this humanitarian action enables them to access a wide range of healthcare services without the difficulty of long journeys.
Mimoun, from the commune of Tounfite, said he benefited from a thorough diabetes examination and medications adapted to his medical condition, expressing his gratitude to the Royal Armed Forces for the warm reception, guidance and support.
For her part, Fatima, who came to receive a thorough check of her health following a previous stomach surgery, said she was “happy” to have received a supply of medicines necessary for her condition, praising the efforts of the medical and paramedical teams mobilized by the Royal Armed Forces.
It should be recalled that this medical facility is one of three military field hospitals deployed simultaneously by the Royal Armed Forces, on High Royal Instructions, in the communes of Aït M’hammed in Azilal Province, Ouirgane in Al Haouz Province and Tounfite in Midelt Province, to face the harshness of winter.
