The meeting brought together the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, Ahmed El Bouari, and the UK Minister of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Angela Eagle, who expressed her country’s ambition to further consolidate cooperation ties with Morocco.
Discussions focused on prospects for cooperation in the agricultural, agri-food, and rural fields, with particular emphasis on food security, sustainable water resource management, and adaptation to climate change.
As part of the Enhanced Strategic Partnership linking the United Kingdom and Morocco, the meeting also helped identify shared priorities, notably in research, the exchange of best practices, as well as education and training.
Bilateral cooperation in the water sector in Morocco was also discussed, particularly projects related to wastewater treatment and desalination, along with strengthening access to the Moroccan market for British exports of agricultural, food, and beverage products.
For its 11th consecutive participation, the Kingdom- now a regular participant in this major international event devoted to the key challenges shaping the future of the agricultural sector- has a dedicated pavilion.
Moroccan cooperatives and producers are showcasing national local products, highlighting on the international stage the richness and diversity of Morocco’s agricultural offering.
