A golden generation coming into its own:
The performances of Moroccan players on the African and international stages reflect the vitality of the training work carried out by the federation. One of the most striking moments was the historic triumph of young Malak Allami, who won the girls’ doubles title at the 2024 US Open Junior, a national first that symbolizes the emergence of a new elite. In the same momentum, prodigy Reda Bennani embodies the bright future of Moroccan tennis. His recent wild card invitation to the ATP 500 tournament in Doha confirms international recognition of his potential and illustrates the quality of the talent identification and support system implemented nationwide by the FRMT.
Modern governance and a structured vision:
Under the leadership of its president Fayçal Laraïchi, the FRMT is pursuing a path of professionalization and transparency. Organizational reforms have been launched to strengthen administrative and technical structuring, while the federal administration continues to actively develop programs for talent detection, coach training and support for affiliated clubs.
The federation is also working to democratize the practice of tennis across the country by modernizing infrastructure and promoting access for young people, particularly in school environments. This broad-based strategy forms the foundation for sustainable and competitive development.
Padel, a new strategic horizon:
With a forward-looking approach, the FRMT is also supporting the rise of padel, a rapidly growing discipline. Coordination initiatives with clubs, specialized training sessions and reinforced technical supervision have already enabled the sport to reach several thousand licensed players in just a few years. The stated ambition is clear: to make Morocco a leading reference in Africa in this discipline.
A structuring project for the future:
Among the flagship initiatives is the upcoming creation of a National Tennis Center, the result of a strategic institutional partnership. Equipped with six courts dedicated to the preparation of national teams, this future complex will serve as a center of excellence for high-level training and the organization of intensive camps.
Through its results, major projects and the emergence of young champions, Moroccan tennis is currently experiencing a historic phase. Driven by the vision of Fayçal Laraïchi and the methodical action of the FRMT, it is establishing itself as one of the Kingdom’s most promising sports, ready to assert itself sustainably on the international stage.
