Consultation Meeting on Domestic Trade in the Casablanca-Settat Region

The meeting, held in the presence of professionals from various fields, forms part of the regional consultations led by the Ministry of Industry and Trade with the aim of revitalizing the commercial sector by identifying the expectations expressed and the challenges facing the sector.

Speakers stressed the need to support small traders, particularly through the relaunch of the “Rawaj” program, the simplification of administrative procedures, and the expansion of the scope of action of professional chambers.

They also called for efforts to combat informal trade while advocating for balanced management of public space.

In a statement to MAP, the regional director of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Saâd Amam, said that the meeting is part of a participatory approach aimed at collecting the opinions and proposals of all stakeholders in the sector in order to subsequently develop realistic and practical recommendations.

He noted that the objective of the regional consultations is to gather suggestions that take into account the specific characteristics of each region as well as the transformations occurring in the sector. These proposals will later be submitted for discussion during the upcoming National Assises. The goal is to develop a realistic and implementable strategy.

For his part, the regional director of the CCISCS, Zakaria Souhaïl, said that the meeting represents an important step in the preparation of the 2026 National Assises on Trade. He added that the Chamber seeks to serve as a space for reflection and the exchange of ideas on the current state of domestic trade.

He concluded by emphasizing that this participatory approach is the only possible choice to modernize and organize the sector in a way that responds to development requirements at both the regional and national levels.
