In accordance with the High Instructions of His Majesty the King, Messrs. Bourita and Loudyi receive in Rabat the High Representative of the Gaza Peace Council

In implementation of the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, Mr. Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, and Mr. Abdeltif Loudyi, Delegate Minister to the Head of Government in charge of the National Defense Administration, received Mr. Nickolay Mladenov, High Representative of the Gaza Peace Council, on Wednesday at the headquarters of the National Defense Administration.

The meeting was attended by the Lieutenant General, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the Southern Zone, as well as the Lieutenant General commanding the Royal Gendarmerie. Mr. Mladenov headed a high-level delegation comprising senior officials of the Gaza Peace Council and the Commander of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza.

According to a statement issued by the National Defense Administration, the visit forms part of the implementation of the Kingdom of Morocco’s commitments as a founding member of the Peace Council, in accordance with the High Royal Directives announced during the inaugural meeting of the Peace Council held in Washington under the chairmanship of His Excellency Donald Trump, President of the United States of America. The visit was marked by the signing of the Agreement on the Kingdom of Morocco’s Participation in the International Stabilization Force in Gaza.

During the meeting, the Moroccan side stressed that Morocco’s participation in the ISF reflects the Kingdom’s deep commitment to the values of peace, cooperation, and international solidarity, and will contribute to the promotion and establishment of peace and security in the Middle East.

The Moroccan delegation also highlighted the extensive experience accumulated by the Kingdom through its participation in United Nations peacekeeping operations, as well as its longstanding commitment to regional and international peace and stability. Particular emphasis was placed on the Royal initiatives launched by His Majesty the King, especially regional integration projects that contribute to security and social development.

For their part, the senior officials of the Gaza Peace Council and the Commander of the ISF warmly welcomed the Kingdom of Morocco’s decision to join this peace initiative through the deployment of senior officers from the Royal Armed Forces to the ISF Joint Command, personnel from the Royal Gendarmerie and the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), as well as the establishment of a military field hospital.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two parties signed the Agreement on the Kingdom of Morocco’s Participation in the International Stabilization Force in Gaza. According to the statement, the agreement provides the legal framework governing the technical and operational aspects of Morocco’s participation and reflects the shared determination to contribute, through concrete humanitarian and security actions, to building a climate of peace and security in the region.
