Leila Benali: Turning Legitimate Expectations into Tangible Impact on Citizens’ Lives Is the Main Challenge of the National Sustainable Development Strategy (NSDS-2035)

The main challenge of the updated version of the National Sustainable Development Strategy (NSDS-2035) lies in transforming legitimate expectations into tangible improvements in citizens’ daily lives, said the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, on Thursday in Rabat.

In a presentation before the Government Council, Benali explained that the new version identifies six areas of structural transformation and five cross-cutting levers aimed at accelerating the transition toward a more sustainable development model, according to Minister Delegate for Relations with Parliament and Government Spokesperson Mustapha Baitas, who spoke during a press briefing following the meeting.

Baitas added that Benali recalled how the NSDS was launched in 2017 by His Majesty King Mohammed VI as a national reference framework designed to integrate public policies and economic reforms within a sustainable and inclusive development dynamic.

She also noted that the strategy aims to strengthen synergy between sectoral policies, ensure territorial cohesion, and promote effective on-the-ground implementation while guaranteeing a fair and sustainable transition across the Kingdom, Baitas stated.
