Algeria and the Polisario’s Involvement in Calls for Violence in Morocco Proven
The peaceful demonstrations of Moroccan youth, carried by legitimate social demands for better education and a stronger healthcare system, were disfigured by a wave of premeditated violence. Behind these excesses, the evidence points to an orchestrated scenario: the direct involvement of Algerian intelligence services and their “sleeper cells,” namely sympathizers of Polisario terrorist militias present in significant numbers in Morocco, seeking to turn a peaceful movement into organized chaos.
Legitimate protests diverted
At first, the gatherings were conducted in a responsible spirit, symbolizing the democratic vitality of the Kingdom. But soon, criminal acts appeared: vehicles set on fire, destruction of public and private property, attacks against law enforcement, and attempts to spread panic in several cities. These incidents are not the result of chance. They bear the signature of infiltrated groups, manipulated and financed from abroad.
The visible hand of Algiers
Preliminary investigations reveal a coordinated strategy. Digital accounts and social media networks linked to the Polisario and Algerian intelligence services, particularly on the platforms Discord and Telegram, massively relayed calls for violence, targeting especially the regions of Agadir, Inzgane, Guelmim, and the southern provinces. The objective: to divert social demands toward a separatist agenda and create the illusion of political contestation against Morocco’s territorial integrity and against the Monarchy.
These calls did not remain limited to virtual discourse: radicalized elements connected to Polisario militias attempted to infiltrate demonstrations in order to provoke confrontation and generate scenes of chaos, destined to feed Algerian media propaganda.
The same scenario as in the past
This modus operandi recalls other episodes orchestrated by Algiers. Already in 2018, during the visit of UN Special Envoy Horst Köhler, separatists had exploited social gatherings in the southern provinces to transform them into political platforms. Today, history repeats itself with greater intensity, demonstrating the panic of an Algerian regime in internal crisis, willing to export instability to Morocco in order to distract its own population.
Violence and media manipulation
The scenes of vandalism witnessed in certain Moroccan cities were not spontaneous. They were planned and encouraged by Algiers and Polisario networks. The attacks on public and private property, on Royal Gendarmerie stations, along with fires and clashes, were designed to project an image of instability in Morocco—images immediately relayed by the Algerian propaganda machine. A communication war accompanying a war of infiltration.
National unity as a bulwark
Faced with this hostile strategy, Moroccan youth reaffirmed their commitment to national unity and civil peace. Despite attempts at manipulation, numerous messages on social media underline that the social demands are internal, peaceful, and have no link with agendas of violence dictated from Algiers and Tindouf.
A plot doomed to fail
The direct involvement of Algerian intelligence services and Polisario militias in the violence that accompanied demonstrations in Morocco leaves no room for doubt. But, as always, these maneuvers will break against the vigilance of the Moroccan people and the strength of its institutions. The troublemakers may attempt to ignite fires, but they will never overcome national unity nor the Kingdom’s determination to defend its stability and territorial integrity.
