A ceremony was held on Thursday at the 1st Naval Base in Casablanca, marking the end of the first phase of training, known as the Common Basic Training, for the Recruits of the 40th Military Service Contingent.

Presided over by the Navy Captain Major commanding the Central Maritime Sector, in the presence of the Navy Captain, Commander of the 1st Naval Base, the ceremony was marked by the oath-taking of around 700 recruits from this contingent, including about 200 young women.

During this first four-month phase, the recruits received intensive military training focused in particular on civic and physical education, among other areas, with the objective of providing them with the necessary foundations of military discipline.

In a speech delivered on the occasion of this ceremony, which began with the rendering of honors, the review of the troops and the raising of the colors, the Navy Captain Major commanding the Central Maritime Sector congratulated the recruits for having completed the first phase of their military service, which, according to him, constitutes “the cornerstone” of this process.

The oath-taking at the end of this first phase of training “represents the solid pact and the permanent commitment binding the recruits to His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces,” he stressed, urging the recruits to continue their efforts during the next phase with greater diligence and commitment in order to fully benefit from the programs and resources made available to them by the Royal Armed Forces to succeed in their professional training, enabling them to join the ranks of the FAR or the labor market with proven skills.

He also paid tribute to the trainers, officers, non-commissioned officers and enlisted personnel for their efforts and dedication in the training and supervision of the recruits, with pride and honor, in accordance with the High Royal Instructions aimed at ensuring the success of this noble mission.

At the end of the ceremony, which was marked by a military parade involving the recruits of this contingent, a fifteen-day leave will be granted to all the recruits.

Upon their return, the recruits will be assigned to FAR units and centers to undergo a specialization training lasting eight months.

The 40th Military Service Contingent includes a total strength exceeding 20,000 recruits, including more than 2,000 young women.
