E-sport: Launch of Casablanca’s First Gaming Center in Maârif
The Maârif district inaugurated on Wednesday Casablanca’s first gaming center at the Zefzaf Cultural Center, marking a new step in promoting creative and digital industries within the metropolis.

The creation of this center is the result of an agreement concluded between the city of Casablanca, Casa Events et Animation, and the Royal Moroccan Federation of Electronic Games (FRMJE).
Speaking on this occasion, Abdessadeq Mourchid, president of the Maârif District Council, stated that the launch of this first video game center is part of an agreement providing for the creation by Casa Events et Animation of 16 similar centers across the different districts of Casablanca, in partnership with and under the technical supervision of the FRMJE.
In a statement to the press, Mourchid emphasized that the idea behind the project “is not only entertainment,” but also aims to create professional teams for console and PC gaming, as well as a dedicated local league.
Highlighting the considerable growth of e-sports worldwide, with significant financial returns, he noted that the sector has evolved “from simple entertainment to the creation of real added value.”
The objective of this center is to bring together the many video game enthusiasts by offering them a structured space where they can train, develop their skills and thrive, he continued, adding that the initiative also reflects the city’s intention to diversify activities available to young people and support emerging talent in the field of electronic sports.
