Cold Wave: Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity Distributes Aid to 5,000 Families in Ouarzazate Province

Amrzgane Commune (Ouarzazate Province) – The Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity distributed aid on Friday to 5,000 families from several communes in Ouarzazate Province, as part of the “Severe Cold Wave” operation launched in implementation of the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

This operation was launched in the douar of Tazoult Noumrado, under the Amrzgane commune, in the presence of representatives of local authorities, and covers several douars spread across 11 territorial communes in the province.

During the first day of the operation, 568 families from douars belonging to the communes of Amrzgane and Ghassat benefited from this assistance. The operation will continue in areas affected by climatic hazards and the cold wave.

Beneficiary families received humanitarian aid consisting of basic food supplies and blankets. Distribution was carried out by field teams mobilized by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, including officials from the General Directorate of Social Services of the Royal Armed Forces, as part of a sustained logistical and human effort to ensure the success of the operation.

In statements to the Maghreb Arab Press MAP, several beneficiaries expressed their deep gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, praising the High Royal Solicitude with which His Majesty surrounds rural populations, particularly those in remote areas facing the harshness of climatic conditions during the winter season.

The beneficiaries stressed that this assistance comes at a timely moment, given the severe cold wave as well as snowfall and rainfall affecting these mountainous regions. They also commended the strong mobilization of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity teams, local authorities and all stakeholders involved.

This nationwide humanitarian operation mobilizes significant logistical and human resources, in close coordination with the Ministry of Interior, in order to meet the urgent needs of the most vulnerable populations.

This humanitarian initiative, carried out in close coordination with the Ministry of Interior, benefits 73,000 families from 28 provinces affected by a sharp drop in temperatures, accompanied by significant rainfall and snowfall.
