GITEX Africa 2026: Meeting brings together startups benefiting from the “Morocco 300” initiative
A meeting bringing together startups benefiting from the “Morocco 300” initiative was held on Monday in Marrakech, with the participation of investors, institutional partners and key players from the digital ecosystem.

Organized by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, the meeting represents a strategic preparatory step ahead of the launch of GITEX Africa 2026, aimed at strengthening coordination and aligning the efforts of all stakeholders involved.
Following the success of the “Morocco 100” and “Morocco 200” programs, this edition records a 50 percent increase in the number of beneficiaries, reflecting a clear intention to broaden the base and reinforce Morocco’s presence on the international tech scene.
In this context, the ministry has adopted a pragmatic approach to remove barriers to the international expansion of startups, notably by covering 95 percent of participation costs for this major global event.
This support also includes upstream assistance programs such as bootcamps and webinars, as well as opportunities to connect with investors and develop strategic partnerships.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, stated that beyond growth, her department aims to industrialize the technological ecosystem, noting that “the objective is to foster the emergence of 3,000 startups, create Moroccan unicorns and ensure the training of 100,000 digital talents each year.”
She highlighted that the ministry is deploying an ambitious venture building offer, mobilizing more than 700 million dirhams to support over 800 startups from their early stages of development. It is also strengthening access to funding through a venture capital offer, with a commitment to catalyze more than 2 billion dirhams to help high-potential startups scale up.
“The ministry is also investing in breakthrough technologies, notably through the Jazari Institute and the launch of the National Jazari Root Center, dedicated to artificial intelligence, applied research and talent development,” she added, noting that this strategic initiative aims to position the Kingdom as a regional hub for digital innovation serving sustainable development, while fostering synergies between African and Arab ecosystems.
“This initiative fully reflects our ambition, which is to create concrete bridges between Morocco and major global tech hubs, and to give our entrepreneurs the means to scale up and showcase Moroccan innovation on the international stage,” the minister said.
The meeting marked a key step in bringing together all stakeholders around a shared vision, with the main objective of transforming individual initiatives into a collective force capable of representing Morocco internationally.
With nearly 800 startups supported since the launch of GITEX Africa, the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform is now asserting its leadership in establishing an integrated national model to support innovation, based on proximity, efficiency and a results-driven approach.
