New Generation of Integrated Territorial Development Programs: Abdelouafi Laftit Holds Meeting with Regional Presidents
As part of the implementation of the High Royal Directives related to the launch of a new generation of Integrated Territorial Development Programs (PDTI), a meeting chaired by the Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, was held on Friday in Rabat with the presidents of the Kingdom’s 12 regions.

Held in the presence of the regional walis, the meeting aimed to broaden and deepen the role of territorial authorities in the process of designing and implementing the new generation of Integrated Territorial Development Programs.
This meeting follows on from and reinforces the broad consultations organized across all prefectures and provinces since mid-October 2025. These consultations made it possible to launch a wide-ranging debate involving civil society, elected officials and all local stakeholders, with a view to achieving integrated territorial development.
To date, the process of preparing the new-generation PDTIs has reached a very advanced stage, particularly with regard to territorial diagnosis, the identification of key indicators and targeting.
The meeting with the presidents of the 12 regions also served as an opportunity to highlight the central role of the region in the rollout of these new-generation PDTIs, in light of their missions and competencies, in accordance with the organic laws governing territorial authorities.
These competencies, which align with the main pillars of the Integrated Territorial Development Programs, notably concern economic development, rural development, the environment, employment and vocational training.
