Grand Froid: Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity Distributes Aid to More Than 14,000 Families in the Fes-Meknes Region

Some 14,337 families in the Fes-Meknes region are benefiting from the “Grand Froid” operation, carried out by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity in implementation of the High Royal Instructions aimed at assisting populations affected by the sharp drop in temperatures.

The Foundation launched the aid distribution on Sunday from the douars of Imzougen, Tafert and El Ghar, in the commune of Ighzaren, within the province of Sefrou. The assistance includes basic food supplies and blankets, with a total of 290 aid packages distributed.

At the level of Sefrou province, around 2,340 families are benefiting from this operation, spread across four territorial communes, namely Ighzaren, Tafjijt, Tazouta and Laânoucer.

The operation, conducted in the presence of representatives of local authorities, was supervised by field teams mobilized by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity. These teams include executives from the General Directorate of Social Services of the Royal Armed Forces, as part of a continuous logistical and human effort to ensure the success of the operation.

The initiative will continue within the province to benefit five douars in the communes of Tafjijt, Tazouta and Laanoussar.

According to data provided by the Foundation and communicated by its Director of Communication, Sanaa Derdikh, the number of families that have benefited so far from the “Grand Froid” operation nationwide is approaching 30,000. These families come from 671 douars belonging to 55 territorial communes.

Covering 28 provinces across the Kingdom, the operation will continue in the coming days in the other provinces of the Fes-Meknes region, she added.

Several beneficiaries, for their part, expressed their deep gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for this generous Royal initiative, praising the efforts deployed by the Foundation and the various stakeholders to alleviate the suffering of the population amid the difficult climatic conditions affecting certain regions.

This large-scale humanitarian operation has enabled the deployment of significant logistical and human resources, in close coordination with the Ministry of the Interior, in order to respond to the immediate needs of the most vulnerable populations.

It targets provinces experiencing a sharp drop in temperatures as well as significant rainfall and snowfall, benefiting a total of 73,000 households.
