Signed by the Secretary General of the League, Ahmed Abbadi, and the Director of the Sogang Institute, Dahn Park, this memorandum seeks to establish a functional and promising research and academic partnership in fields of common interest.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Abbadi stated that this agreement will embody “a complementarity between the Mohammadia League of Ulema and the Sogang Euro-MENA Institute”, in the sense that the results of joint scientific research will promote a more accurate understanding of the various developments taking place in the region, particularly those related to religious affairs.

In a statement to the press, he underlined that the Sogang Institute is one of the most important and oldest universities in the world, noting that this memorandum is intended to strengthen the rigor and effectiveness of scientific research, in order to achieve a deeper and more precise understanding, enabling the elaboration of more efficient strategies to address the various issues and challenges.

For his part, Mr. Park noted that this memorandum, which will extend over a period of six years, “aims to build and develop positive and fruitful relations with the Mohammadia League of Ulema”.

He added, in a similar statement, that the Institute, funded by the Korean National Research Foundation, has over the past six years examined the different avenues of dialogue with the Islamic and non-Islamic world.
