Nasser Bourita Presents 2026 Budget Guidelines of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before the House of Representatives
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, presented on Tuesday, November 11, before the Committee on Foreign Affairs, National Defense, Islamic Affairs, Migration, and Moroccans Residing Abroad at the House of Representatives, the main orientations of his department’s 2026 sectoral budget proposal.

During his presentation, Mr. Bourita recalled that Morocco’s diplomatic action in 2026 will continue to follow the High Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, built upon the defense of the Nation’s supreme interests, the consolidation of Morocco’s strategic partnerships, and the strengthening of the Kingdom’s presence on the regional and international stage.
The Minister highlighted the efforts made over the past year, notably the diversification of political alliances, the enhancement of the diplomatic network through the opening of new foreign representations in Morocco and new Moroccan embassies across Africa, as well as the intensification of economic and security cooperation with several key partners.
Regarding the 2026 budget, Mr. Bourita indicated that priorities will mainly focus on:
- Strengthening Morocco’s diplomatic network, through the modernization of infrastructure and the upgrading of the human and technical resources of missions abroad.
- Consolidating economic diplomacy, by supporting Moroccan investors and attracting more international partnerships, in line with the Kingdom’s economic momentum.
- Defending the national cause, by continuing diplomatic efforts aimed at reinforcing international recognition of Morocco’s territorial integrity and the autonomy plan for the Southern Provinces.
- Supporting Moroccans abroad, by improving consular services, digitizing procedures, and ensuring the legal and social protection of citizens residing overseas.
The Minister also reaffirmed that Moroccan diplomacy will continue to play an active role in promoting peace, regional stability, and South-South cooperation, particularly in Africa, where Morocco remains a committed and credible actor.
This presentation took place as part of the review process of the 2026 Finance Bill, prior to its adoption by Parliament.
