ONMT Attracts the Dutch Annual Travel Agents Congress to Morocco
The Dutch Association of the Travel Industry (ANVR) is holding its annual congress in Morocco for the first time, from November 13 to 16, 2025, under the theme “Connecting”, announced the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT).
This major event, organized in Rabat in partnership with the ONMT, brings together more than 220 key Dutch tourism decision-makers and reunites over three days the leading players of the travel industry. Participants include heads of tour operators, airlines, financial institutions, insurance companies, media representatives and academics, the Office said in a statement.
It represents a unique showcase for the destination Morocco, offering an environment conducive to networking and new business partnerships, while also serving as a strategic opportunity to position Rabat as a reference destination for travelers from the Benelux region, the statement underlined.
“By hosting ANVR 2025, Morocco affirms its position among the world’s major tourism destinations”, said Achraf Fayda, Director General of the ONMT, noting that this milestone is strategic to “strengthen our presence in the Dutch market and a source of pride to see Rabat, City of Light and cultural capital, become the meeting point for European travel leaders”.
This congress comes at a particularly promising moment. By the end of August 2025, tourist arrivals from the Benelux have shown steady growth, with an increase of 11 percent in Belgian visitors and 14 percent in Dutch travelers compared to 2024.
In parallel with the congress, the airline Transavia inaugurated a new direct Amsterdam to Rabat route on Thursday. This connection, operated twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays, will strengthen Rabat’s positioning as an ideal destination for short stays and business tourism, while also enabling easier combined travel toward the northern and central cities of the Kingdom including Tangier, Chefchaouen, Fez and Meknes.
With this initiative, the ONMT confirms its role as a driving force in developing and consolidating high-potential European markets. By attracting the largest professional gathering in the Dutch tourism sector to Rabat, the Office places the Moroccan capital firmly on the map of influential destinations.
