AFCON 2025 Final: FRMF Appeal Accepted, Case to Be Reexamined by CAF
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has succeeded in the appeal procedure it launched following the events that occurred during the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), played on Sunday, January 18 in Rabat. The competent body has decided to accept the appeal, paving the way for a full reexamination of the case.

This decision marks an important step in the handling of the matter, which had sparked numerous reactions within African football. By accepting the appeal submitted by the FRMF, the relevant authority acknowledges the need to review the facts and the elements presented by the Moroccan federation once again.
The case will therefore be reopened and subjected to a new evaluation, allowing for a more in-depth examination of the circumstances surrounding this decisive match. This new phase could lead to a revision of the initial decisions or provide additional clarification regarding the incidents that were reported.
For the FRMF, the decision represents a significant development in the defense of its position, as the federation had considered that certain elements deserved to be reassessed in order to ensure a complete and fair interpretation of the facts.
The outcome of this reexamination will now be closely followed by observers of African football, as it could have important implications for the parties involved as well as for the management of continental competitions.
