American Investors Explore the Economic Potential of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Region
A delegation of American investors visited the city of Dakhla on Wednesday to explore the region’s major economic potential and identify its most promising sectors.
During this visit, the delegation, composed of business leaders from the city of Great Neck, received an overview of the local business climate, major infrastructure projects and future prospects for bilateral cooperation across sectors of shared interest.
This initiative falls within the framework of the twinning agreement signed between Dakhla and Great Neck, designed to strengthen cooperation and develop economic partnerships based on a win-win approach.
Speaking to the press, American investor Lior Cohen stated that the purpose of the visit is to “develop joint projects and identify new investment opportunities in the region.” He emphasized the delegation’s intention to build long-term economic relations with local stakeholders.
For his part, American healthcare investor Edwin Cohen Azarkian explained that the favorable conditions observed during his first visit to Dakhla, coupled with the remarkable economic momentum underway in the region, encouraged him to return to further assess investment opportunities and determine high-potential sectors.
On this occasion, the President of the Dakhla Municipal Council, Errahib Hormatallah, noted that the delegation carried out field visits that included the Dakhla Atlantic Port project, agricultural facilities, aquaculture developments and several industrial units. He added that these visits allowed the investors to directly observe the region’s ongoing development.
Acting Director of the Regional Investment Center, Ahmed Kattir, stated that the American delegation “expressed admiration for the major progress achieved in the region, particularly in infrastructure and investment.”
A presentation was delivered to the delegation outlining the region’s economic assets, key structural projects under development and the promising investment opportunities available across multiple sectors.
The group of American investors also held meetings with the Wali of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, the governor of Oued Eddahab Province, the President of the Municipal Council of Dakhla, the Director of the Regional Investment Center and the President of the regional branch of the CGEM.
Discussions during these meetings focused on the outlook for economic cooperation between Dakhla and Great Neck, the investment opportunities available across strategic sectors and the efforts underway to support investors and strengthen the region’s attractiveness.
