Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid denies accusations circulated by an online outlet and announces legal action
Following the circulation, by an online news site and several social media pages, of unfounded accusations and false allegations linked to a case currently before the courts, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid has reacted through a statement addressed to national and international public opinion. In it, he expresses his strong indignation at what he describes as a defamation campaign targeting his person, the dignity of his family, the responsibilities he holds, as well as the political party to which he belongs.

According to Bensaid, the information being circulated amounts to disinformation and fake news, devoid of any credibility or objectivity. He affirms that these serious and baseless accusations are intended solely to mislead public opinion and damage his reputation.
While reaffirming his attachment to freedom of expression and to the fundamental role of constructive criticism in public life, Bensaid stresses that the facts attributed to him in no way fall within the scope of democratic debate. He considers this to be a deliberate and organized attack, based on gratuitous and dangerous accusations, aimed at undermining his honour.
In response to this situation, and expressing full confidence in the independence of the judiciary, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid announces his decision to initiate all necessary legal proceedings against any individual involved in the fabrication, publication or dissemination of these allegations. He specifies that, in this context, he will seek only moral rehabilitation and symbolic compensation.
Finally, Bensaid assures that these attempts at destabilization will only strengthen his determination to continue carrying out his duties with integrity and commitment, and to keep serving his country by focusing on the major projects within the sectors under his responsibility, far from what he describes as artificial controversies.
