Nasser Bourita meets with the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, held talks on Wednesday in Rabat with the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf.

This meeting took place on the occasion of Mr. Ali Youssouf’s participation in the 58th session of the Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) in Tangier from March 28 to April 3.

During their discussions, both parties reviewed prospects for strengthening cooperation between Morocco and the African Union Commission, as well as ways to further consolidate this partnership in line with the aspirations of Agenda 2063.

Mr. Bourita and Mr. Ali Youssouf also exchanged views on issues related to peace and security in Africa, as well as on development and regional integration initiatives.

On this occasion, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission praised the Kingdom’s contribution—under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI—to the pan-African agenda for development, peace, and security.

He also welcomed Morocco’s election for a third term to the Peace and Security Council last February.
