Morocco – Kenya: Growing Cooperation in Support of a Lasting Strategic Partnership
Morocco and Kenya have reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening their strategic partnership and strengthening an exemplary cooperation based on solidarity, mutual respect, and converging interests.

On Wednesday, October 1, 2025, the Ambassador and Director General of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI), Mr. Mohamed Methqal, co-chaired alongside Ambassador Josfat Maikara, Director General for Political and Diplomatic Affairs at the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the preparatory meeting for the upcoming Morocco-Kenya Joint Ministerial Commission.
This meeting is part of the growing momentum that characterizes bilateral relations between the two countries, driven by the far-sighted Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, in favor of a united, solidary, and prosperous Africa. It provided an opportunity to review the different areas of cooperation, including political, economic, academic, cultural, and sustainable development sectors.
Morocco and Kenya, two major players on the African scene, share a common ambition: to make their partnership a successful South-South model. The role of AMCI, through training programs, expertise exchange, and skills development, illustrates the Kingdom’s firm will to place its know-how at the service of its African partners.
For its part, Kenya welcomed the quality of its cooperation with Morocco, highlighting the importance of the historic friendship between the two peoples and their convergence of views on many regional and international issues.
The work of this preparatory meeting paves the way for the upcoming Joint Ministerial Commission, which will give new impetus to bilateral relations and consolidate the foundations of an ambitious and sustainable cooperation.
Through this rapprochement, Morocco and Kenya confirm their determination to work together for stability, development, and regional integration in Africa, in the spirit of pan-Africanism and win-win partnership.
