Tourism: ONMT receives double recognition in Spain
The Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) has received two distinctions in Spain from leading professional organizations in the travel sector, confirming Morocco’s positioning on this strategic European market.

The Spanish Confederation of Travel Agencies (CEAV) named Morocco “International Destination of the Year 2025,” an award presented to Achraf Fayda, Director General of ONMT, the Office said in a press release.
This recognition highlights the sustained efforts undertaken by ONMT in promotion, communication and the structuring of Morocco’s tourism offering among travel distribution stakeholders in Spain. It reflects the effectiveness of a long term strategy aimed at enriching, updating and strengthening Morocco’s programming among Spanish travel agencies and tour operators, who are key prescribers in the market.
As the leading consortium of travel agencies in Spain, CEAV brings together thousands of agencies across the country and represents a central player in the Spanish tourism sector. This distinction further confirms the strength of the partnership between Morocco and Spanish travel professionals.
At the same time, the Andalusian Federation of Travel Agencies (FAAV) awarded Morocco the recognition of “preferred international destination” among travel agencies in Andalusia, confirming the Kingdom’s attractiveness on this regional market, according to the press release.
The award was presented to Achraf Fayda by Antonio Caño, President of the Cordoba Association of Travel Agencies and Secretary General of FAAV. This recognition is further strengthened by the continued development of air connectivity between Spain and Morocco, as well as maritime links connecting southern Spain to the Kingdom.
Through these two distinctions, ONMT is consolidating Morocco’s positioning as a trusted, high performing and sustainable destination on the Spanish market, supported by a strategy based on close partnerships with travel professionals, the opening of point to point air routes, and a constantly evolving tourism offering.
