ALGERIA HAS ALREADY COLLAPSED…BUT ITS REGIME PERSISTS IN DENIAL !

Algeria is not just a mysterious, opaque, and unpredictable country; it has become a dangerous threat to the security of its neighbors. An “artificial” state, born in 1962 in the wake of a rushed departure by the French colonizer, it has never managed, nor sought, to establish the solid foundations of a genuine national and democratic project. Since the 1990s, this country has been languishing under the weight of its own contradictions, unable to confront even the most basic truths.
Socially drained, politically moribund, and economically on the brink of collapse, Algeria clings desperately to its outdated illusions of the “Soviet era.” This regime, incapable of evolution, remains trapped in an endless cycle of arrogance and grotesque propaganda. Governed by a corrupt mafia-like clique of generals hungry for power, Algeria has willingly sunk itself into an abyss of instability and denial.
The country’s economic and social paralysis is a direct result of this militaristic-mafia regime—a sprawling octopus that has looted national resources since Algeria’s inception, squandering its immense potential. Once, Algeria might have envisioned a prosperous future; today, it is nothing more than a failed state, incapable of ensuring even its population’s immediate survival.
With a national currency that is virtually worthless and mountains of cash printed without any economic backing, how much longer can the country sustain an illusory social peace? Oil and gas revenues are dwindling inexorably, and the days are numbered before empty coffers spark uncontrollable riots in the streets. Skyrocketing inflation and legendary shortages will inevitably create fertile ground for massive uprisings.
But that’s not all: Algeria has already collapsed—socially and financially—but its regime, a chaotic mosaic of rival clans, corrupt generals, and visionless bureaucrats, remains entrenched in total denial. These contradictory factions are destined to self-destruct, dragging the entire country down with them.
Faced with this foreseeable chaos, Morocco must exercise heightened vigilance. We cannot ignore the potential consequences of Algeria’s collapse, whose repercussions risk dangerously shaking our eastern borders. It is our duty to fortify our defenses, anticipate the worst, and protect our stability against the devastating blow of an implosion—or explosion—emanating from a country of 40 million inhabitants.
