World Cup 2030: The United Kingdom Joins Forces with Morocco on Sports and Transport Infrastructure

In a new display of strategic cooperation, Morocco and the United Kingdom signed an important declaration of intent this Monday in Rabat in support of the organization of the 2030 FIFA World Cup. The agreement was signed by Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa, Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget and President of the Moroccan Committee for the 2030 World Cup, and Mr. David Lammy, UK Minister of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.
The signing ceremony took place at the prestigious Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé, in the presence of senior Moroccan and British officials.
Ambitious Cooperation in Key Areas of the World Cup
This memorandum of understanding marks a turning point in Moroccan-British bilateral relations by expanding their partnership to include sports, infrastructure, and economic development. It fully aligns with the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, who has made sport a vehicle of influence, outreach, and sustainable development.
Through this commitment, the United Kingdom expresses its intention to mobilize its technical expertise, entrepreneurial ecosystem, and support capacities to actively contribute to the success of this major global event, which Morocco will host jointly with Spain and Portugal in 2030.
Both parties agreed to work closely together in several key areas, including the construction and modernization of stadiums, the development of transport infrastructure, and the management of services related to major international events.
