Morocco’s Tourism Office, China Eastern Airlines Join Forces to Promote Morocco in China
Rabat - The Moroccan National Tourism Office (MNTO) and China Eastern Airlines, sealed, on Monday in Rabat, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to bolster the promotion of the Morocco destination in the Chinese market.

The agreement was concluded during a ceremony chaired by Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, between MNTO’s CEO, Achraf Fayda, and chairman of China Eastern Airlines, Wang Zhiqing.
Confirming the surge of the Asian market, this key partnership covers an integrated marketing strategy, promotional joint action, organizing press trips, as well as optimizing air links to Morocco.
Speaking on the occasion, Ammor stated that this partnership is “in line with our ambition to establish Morocco as an exceptional destination for travellers from all over the world,” adding that with China Eastern, Morocco is consolidating its foothold in Asia, and affirming its strategy of diversification, underlining the importance of this agreement for the Kingdom’s development.
For his part, Fayda said that this cooperation is based on an ambitious vision of long-term tourism development.
He added that the partnership with China Eastern illustrates Morocco’s ability to forge strategic alliances with the major stakeholders in world air transport, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to opening up to the most dynamic and demanding markets, by offering an authentic, upscale and exclusive tourism offering.
This partnership follows the launch, in January 2025, of the Shanghai-Casablanca line through Marseille, operated by China Eastern.
This time, a direct line is set to be launched starting October 2025 with a weekly frequency of 3 flights. Casablanca will thus be connected to China’s main emitting center, in addition to the direct Beijing-Casablanca route operated by Morocco’s flag carrier, Royal Air Maroc.
