In Brussels, Nasser Bourita and José Manuel Albares Reaffirm the Strength of the Morocco–Spain Strategic Partnership
On the sidelines of the European Union–Southern Neighbourhood Ministerial Meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, held talks this Monday in Brussels with his Spanish counterpart, Mr. José Manuel Albares, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain.

This meeting is part of the regular political consultations between Morocco and Spain, whose strategic partnership continues to strengthen, founded on mutual trust, transparency and respect for the fundamental interests of both Kingdoms.
The two ministers reviewed the progress of bilateral projects outlined in the joint roadmap adopted in April 2022, following the meeting between His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez. In this context, they welcomed the positive and sustained momentum of Moroccan–Spanish cooperation across various sectors, including the economy, migration, security, education, green energy and culture.
At the regional level, Mr. Bourita and Mr. Albares exchanged views on several current issues, emphasizing the importance of close coordination in the face of shared challenges in the Western Mediterranean, the Sahel and North Africa. They reaffirmed their commitment to a common vision of peace, stability and shared development.
This meeting once again highlights the exceptional quality of relations between Rabat and Madrid, which stand as a model of Euro-Mediterranean partnership based on pragmatic, balanced and forward-looking cooperation.
