HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa, El Salvador’s First Lady Pay Visit to Lalla Asmaa Foundation
Rabat - Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmaa, President of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation, and the First Lady of the Republic of El Salvador, Gabriela Rodríguez de Bukele, paid a visit to the Foundation’s headquarters on Monday in Rabat.

The visit by Gabriela de Bukele to the Lalla Asmaa Foundation, recognized as a national and continental benchmark in supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing children, falls within the framework of experience-sharing and enhanced collaboration on initiatives promoting the inclusion of deaf children.
On this occasion, Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmaa and the First Lady of El Salvador toured various spaces of the Foundation and were briefed on the comprehensive model adopted by the institution, which integrates cutting-edge medical care, rehabilitation, specialized education, psychosocial support, and family training.
Her Royal Highness and Gabriela Rodríguez de Bukele also visited the Foundation’s summer camp, including the pedagogical greenhouse, before learning about the recreational activities and various workshops available to the children, such as pottery, diorama creation, and sculpting clay.
Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmaa and the First Lady of El Salvador also visited the aerobics room, English and American Sign Language (ASL) classes, remedial classrooms, high-tech workshops, and the speech therapy room.
On this occasion, a robot designed to aid in the learning of sign language and an AI-powered speech therapy application were presented to HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa and the First Lady of El Salvador.
This AI application is intended to assist speech therapists in assessing, monitoring, and rehabilitating children through an intelligent, interactive platform. It is also devoted to supporting families through games and exercises tailored for at-home use, available at any time, and promoting the development of children’s language, listening, and communication skills based on scientific and clinical data.
As part of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation’s humanitarian approach, twenty deaf children from El Salvador will soon benefit from Moroccan expertise in hearing impairment care, thanks to an initiative led by the Foundation.
They will join the 800 Moroccan children and 240 children from 21 countries across Africa and the Middle East who have received surgeries and support from the Foundation during an exceptional humanitarian mission since the launch of the NASMAA program in 2002.
This new phase reflects the growing international reach of Morocco’s humanitarian commitment in this field.
In line with this approach, Lalla Asmaa Foundation has entered into a strategic partnership with Gallaudet University in Washington, a global leader in higher education for deaf people, focusing on the development of new research, training, and exchange programs.
The First Lady of the Republic of El Salvador also learned about the Foundation’s strategic partnerships, including the three landmark agreements inked last June, aimed at strengthening digital inclusion, professional integration, and scientific cooperation.
These initiatives reflect Lalla Asmaa Foundation’s willingness to support young people well beyond schooling, granting them access to future digital skills, facilitating their professional integration, and opening up more to academic and scientific cooperation.
On this occasion, HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa and the First Lady of the Republic of El Salvador held talks at the Foundation’s headquarters.
Upon their arrival at the Foundation’s headquarters, Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmaa and the First Lady of the Republic of El Salvador reviewed a section of the Auxiliary Forces who were performing the honors, before being greeted by Mohamed Saad Berrada, Minister of National Education, Preschool Education, and Sports; Amine Tahraoui, Minister of Health and Social Protection; Azzedine El Midaoui, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation; Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication; Naima Ben Yahia, Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family; and Fouzi Lekjaa, Deputy Minister to the Minister of Economy and Finance, in charge of the Budget, all members of the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
