Emblematic Moroccan TV & Cinema Figure Ali Hassan Passes Away
Rabat - Ali Hassan, a former journalist and TV presenter of the program "Cinéma du jeudi" (Thursday's film), passed away on Monday in Rabat, according to close relatives.

The deceased was an emblematic figure of Moroccan television and cinema, presenting other radio programs dedicated to film culture.
In 1964, the late Ali Hassan began his professional career at the Moroccan Radio and Television, now SNRT (National Broadcasting and Television Company), where he held several positions, including TV and radio news anchor from 1969 to 1987, producer and presenter of programs “Ciné-Jeudi” (1991- 2003) and “Ciné-club” (2003-2014). He also hosted the radio program “Entr’Acte” (1970-1980), then from 1981 to 1987 and from 1989 to 2015.
In 1980-81, the deceased took part as a journalist in the launch of the Médi1 radio station and in the creation, during the period 1987-89, of the channel 2M TV, as a researcher officer at O.N.A. (Omnium Nord-Africain).
He has participated as an actor in Moroccan feature films such as “The Big Trip” by Mohamed Abderrahman Tazi, ” Why Afghanistan?” by Abdellah Masbahi, “Haj Mokhtar Soldi” by Mostafa Darkaoui and “Free Men” by Ismail Ferroukhi, as well as in two short films by French-Algerian director Mahmoud Zemmouri.
Ali Hassan has also dubbed several series and films in French and commented on cinematographic documentaries including the log “Les Actualités Marocaines” (Moroccan News) from 1973 to 1982.
The deceased had also worked as advisor to the Communication minister (1998-2000), president of the press jury at the Safi Francophone Film Festival in 2004, member of National Film Production Assistance Fund commission (2012-2014) and jury member of the feature film competition at the Algiers Maghreb Film Festival in 2013.
