Casablanca: Reception Aboard the “Tonnerre” Helicopter Carrier Highlights Excellence of Franco-Moroccan Cooperation
A shining symbol of the longstanding friendship and cooperation between France and Morocco, a solemn reception was held on Saturday, September 13, aboard the amphibious helicopter carrier (PHA) Tonnerre, currently docked at the port of Casablanca.

Hosted under the patronage of the French Ambassador to Morocco, Christophe Lecourtier, and Captain Arnaud Bolelli, commander of the vessel, the evening brought together prominent Moroccan figures as well as members of the French community, in an atmosphere marked by conviviality and mutual respect.
During its Casablanca stopover from September 13 to 16, the Tonnerre is hosting a diverse program of events, including conferences, guided tours, and bilateral meetings. These initiatives reflect not only the close military cooperation between Rabat and Paris but also their shared commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership in defense and maritime security.
Beyond the ceremonial dimension, this visit underscores the trust and interoperability that unite the armed forces of both nations. It highlights the continuity of a historic relationship sustained through constant dialogue and exemplary operational cooperation.
In a global context marked by mounting security challenges, the presence of the PHA Tonnerre in Morocco embodies the joint determination of the two countries to consolidate their partnership in the service of stability, peace, and shared development.
