Graduation Ceremony for Morocco’s First “Video Game Creator” Program: The Kingdom Strengthens Its Role in the Global Gaming Industry

A historic milestone has just been reached for Morocco’s creative and digital industries. The graduation ceremony for the first “Video Game Creator” training program was held at the International University of Rabat (UIR), in the presence of the Minister of Culture, Youth and Communication, Mehdi Bensaïd, and the French Ambassador to Morocco, Christophe Lecourtier.

This program, the result of a strategic partnership between UIR, the Paris-based ISART Digital school, and the FISMAC Foundation, enabled forty young talents from across the Kingdom to benefit from a year-long intensive training fully funded by the ministry. Notably, 35% of the graduates are women, reflecting the growing presence of women in Morocco’s digital sector.

The final projects presented during the ceremony showcased remarkable creativity, blending Moroccan cultural heritage with international standards of the gaming industry. These works demonstrate the graduates’ ability to compete in an increasingly demanding global market.

Thanks to this initiative, graduates will have the opportunity to join existing Moroccan gaming studios, launch their own start-ups, or contribute to related fields such as healthcare, education, and cultural heritage promotion through interactive and playful applications.

The awarding of these diplomas marks a major step in Morocco’s ambition to establish itself as a key player in the global video game industry, combining innovation, technical expertise, and cultural identity.
