Several socio-economic development projects were launched or inaugurated in Es-Semara on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Green March, further boosting the strong development dynamic underway in the province.

Mr. Boutoumilate and his delegation were also briefed on the construction of three recreational and sports areas, representing an investment of around 4 million dirhams.

In addition, work was launched on the construction of an indoor municipal swimming pool in the Idriss Premier district, as part of a partnership agreement between the province and the commune for the implementation and financing of the city’s 2022–2027 urban development program, with a total cost of about 14 million dirhams.

They also launched the construction of another indoor municipal swimming pool in the Al-Ouda district (13.57 MDH), along with three neighborhood sports fields (5.45 MDH).

In the agricultural sector, the second phase of the construction of a modern livestock market was launched, with an overall budget of nearly 5 million dirhams. Supervised by the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture of Es-Semara, this project will be carried out over a period of one year. The second phase aims to develop the red meat production sector, structure commercial transactions between breeders, and create stable job opportunities.

On this occasion, the President of the Provincial Council of Es-Semara, Mohamed Salem Labihi, emphasized that these projects, launched as part of the festivities marking the 50th anniversary of the Glorious Green March, aim to strengthen infrastructure and enhance public facilities, thereby improving residents’ living conditions and increasing the city’s economic and social appeal.

He explained in a statement to MAP that these projects seek to expand the availability of sports, recreational, social, and commercial facilities, in line with a vision of proximity and reinforced economic and social inclusion.

For his part, the President of the Es-Semara Commune, Moulay Brahim Chérif, stated that these initiatives are part of the city’s urban upgrading program and reflect the ongoing efforts of various stakeholders to develop infrastructure and public services, with the goal of improving the population’s quality of life.

He added that these projects also aim to promote territorial equity by ensuring that all districts of the city benefit from these initiatives, through the improvement of public service delivery in response to citizens’ expectations.
