Nasser Bourita receives Senegalese Minister Cheikh Niang in Rabat to strengthen the strategic partnership between Morocco and Senegal

Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita received on Monday in Rabat Senegal’s Minister of African Integration, Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad, Cheikh Niang, who is currently on a working visit to the Kingdom.

The meeting reaffirmed the historic and exemplary ties between Morocco and Senegal, two nations bound by deep friendship, shared values, and a steadily growing strategic partnership under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His Excellency President Macky Sall.

During their discussions, the two ministers reviewed the progress of bilateral cooperation projects, particularly in the economic, social, educational and cultural fields. They also explored new areas of collaboration, including African integration, regional security, academic mobility and investment promotion.

Mr. Bourita emphasized Senegal’s special place in Morocco’s African policy, recalling that Dakar remains a strategic partner and a constant ally of the Kingdom on both the continental and international levels. He reiterated Morocco’s commitment to continue supporting Senegal through major development projects that contribute to Africa’s progress and stability.

For his part, Mr. Cheikh Niang expressed Senegal’s appreciation for Morocco’s continued support, praising the Kingdom’s pioneering role in advancing African integration and promoting South-South cooperation. He stressed the importance of accelerating the implementation of bilateral agreements and boosting exchanges between the business communities of both countries.

The two officials also discussed several regional and international issues of mutual concern, including geopolitical developments in West Africa, the fight against violent extremism, maritime security, and sustainable development challenges.

This meeting once again highlighted the depth of the Moroccan-Senegalese partnership, founded on trust, active solidarity, and the shared ambition of building a stable, prosperous and sovereign African future.
