CAN 2025: Rabat’s Main Media Center, a Showcase of Moroccan Media Excellence

Like the world’s greatest sporting competitions, the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations relies on exceptional media infrastructure. In Rabat, the Main Media Center (MMC) stands out as the true beating heart of the tournament’s media coverage, embodying the ambition of Morocco and the Confederation of African Football to provide international media with a flawless working environment worthy of the prestige of the AFCON.
Located within the covered hall of the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex, the Main Media Centre was designed and implemented by the Local Organising Committee in line with the highest standards. It represents a strategic pillar of AFCON 2025, scheduled from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026, and reflects a clear vision: placing journalists at the core of the operation by guaranteeing efficiency, comfort and operational excellence.
A truly ultra-modern media hub, the MMC enjoys a strategic location in the Kingdom’s administrative capital, where four stadiums are hosting matches of the tournament. This central position greatly facilitates mobility, coordination and responsiveness for press teams, while optimising overall media coverage of the event. Designed to accommodate up to 2,000 media professionals, the centre offers high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity and infrastructure fully meeting the requirements of major international sporting events.
Television crews, radio broadcasters, print media, news agencies, photographers, content creators and vloggers all operate in modern, ergonomic and fully connected workspaces. Every detail has been carefully considered to streamline workflows, enhance comfort and allow journalists to focus entirely on their mission: informing, analysing and conveying the excitement of AFCON under the best possible conditions.
The organisation of the MMC is also based on a rigorous yet flexible schedule. On non-match days, the centre is open from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. On match days in Rabat, it opens as early as 9:30 a.m. and remains operational until two hours after the final whistle, ensuring continuous and optimal media coverage.
On site, feedback from journalists has been unanimously positive. Many have praised the quality of the facilities, the smooth organisation and the modernity of the equipment, describing the Main Media Centre as comparable to those of the world’s biggest international sporting events. Such recognition strongly confirms Morocco’s ability to host major competitions in line with global standards.
The MMC also features a large conference hall, notably dedicated to pre-match press conferences, equipped with state-of-the-art technical and logistical facilities. In addition, secure individual lockers are provided for accredited professionals, allowing them to store equipment and personal belongings in a calm and functional environment.
Beyond its logistical role, Rabat’s Main Media Center stands as a true showcase of Moroccan professionalism. It symbolises an AFCON 2025 firmly focused on excellence, innovation and international outreach, once again confirming the Kingdom’s position as a benchmark host for major sporting events on the African continent.
