The quality of Morocco’s organization of AFCON 2025 praised by leaders of French tourism
The President of Atout France, Christian Mantei, and the President of SETO (the Syndicate of Tour Operating Companies), Patrice Caradec, invited by the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), praised the quality of Morocco’s organization of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 and the overall strategy that structures the Kingdom’s tourism experience.

“On the occasion of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, Morocco confirms its ability to host major sporting events and to turn them into powerful drivers of tourism attractiveness. Invited by the ONMT, Christian Mantei, President of Atout France, and Patrice Caradec, President of SETO, praise the quality of the organization and the overall strategy that structures the Kingdom’s tourism experience,” the Office said in a statement.
There are events that go beyond sport. The AFCON semi final held in Morocco is one of them. For Mr Mantei, the tournament reveals a reality that is now undeniable. “Morocco shows that it knows how to organize international events at the highest level. Everything is smooth, clear and under control. And behind this success, you can feel a clear strategic vision carried by the ONMT to turn every event into a lasting tourism driver.”
This level of control is built on solid infrastructure, proven logistics and a strong sense of hospitality. “You can feel a country that is ready, structured and confident in its ability to welcome the world,” Mr Mantei continued. “The AFCON is managed in a way that strengthens Morocco’s image, showcases its regions and makes people want to extend their tourism experience. This is exactly what the ONMT knows how to orchestrate with consistency.”
From the perspective of travel professionals, the assessment is just as clear. Mr Caradec stressed the immediate impact of AFCON on the Kingdom’s image. “For tour operators, an event like this acts as a confidence accelerator. It shows that the destination works, that it is reliable, and that it is able to handle large flows while maintaining quality. And this level of coordination is also the result of the ONMT’s strategic work.”
The international visibility offered by AFCON further reinforces this dynamic. Millions of viewers are discovering a modern, organized and welcoming Morocco. “Sport becomes a tremendous tool for tourism projection here,” Mr Caradec said. “It tells the story of a country in motion, capable of promoting its regions and experiences. You can clearly see that the ONMT plays a central role by giving each event a scope that goes beyond the stadium and the competition.”
For these two leading figures in international tourism, AFCON 2025 goes far beyond the sporting dimension. It stands as a full scale showcase of Moroccan expertise in infrastructure, logistics, security and hospitality.
Thanks to AFCON, to the work of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), the Morocco 2030 Foundation and to the promotional strategy orchestrated by the ONMT, Morocco is inviting the world to take part.
