The President of Senegal praises Morocco’s leadership and the exemplary success of the CAN
The President of the Republic of Senegal expressed his deep gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, as well as to the Moroccan people, for the warm and fraternal welcome extended to him during his stay in the Kingdom. A strong gesture that reflects the quality of the human, political and historical ties uniting Rabat and Dakar.

Speaking on the occasion of the official reception of the members of the Senegalese national football team, the Senegalese Head of State particularly congratulated the Kingdom of Morocco on the remarkable organization of the Africa Cup of Nations. He praised an edition marked by flawless logistics, modern infrastructure and optimal conditions that enabled African national teams and supporters to experience an exceptional competition.
The Senegalese President stressed that this outstanding success was not the result of chance, but rather the reflection of Morocco’s well-established expertise in hosting major continental and international sporting events. He also highlighted the Kingdom’s sustained commitment to the development of African football, through structured investments, training initiatives and cooperation with numerous countries across the continent.
Beyond the sporting dimension, these statements reflect the strength of the fraternal relations between Senegal and Morocco, built on shared values of mutual respect, solidarity and South-South cooperation. Two nations linked by a shared history and a convergent vision for a united, ambitious Africa looking toward the future.
This official recognition thus reinforces Morocco’s position as a key player in African sport and a trusted strategic partner for brotherly countries, such as Senegal, with which it maintains exemplary relations at all levels.
