Morocco at the heart of FIFA’s global vision: 30 mini-pitches to build the future through football

The post published by Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, on his X account marks a new major milestone in the international recognition of Morocco as a central player in the development of world football. By announcing the signing of an agreement for the installation of 30 FIFA Arena mini-pitches across the Kingdom, the head of world football once again confirms the confidence placed in the Moroccan model.

This ambitious initiative, praised by Gianni Infantino himself, goes far beyond the sporting dimension. It aims to provide safe, sustainable and inclusive access to football, particularly for young people and local communities, by making sport a genuine lever for education, learning and hope.

The FIFA President did not fail to pay tribute to the Moroccan partners behind this structuring project, foremost among them Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and member of the FIFA Council, whose constant commitment has enabled Morocco to establish itself as a model in sports governance. He also highlighted the key role played by Mohamed Saad Berrada, Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, as well as that of Mostafa Terrab, Chairman and CEO of the OCP Group, a leading strategic partner.

Through the FIFA Arena programme, Morocco is strengthening its proximity-based policy by placing football at the service of social cohesion, youth development and human progress. These new-generation infrastructures are designed to be spaces for life, learning and the transmission of the universal values of sport, including discipline, solidarity, respect and ambition.

This announcement perfectly illustrates the convergence between FIFA’s strategy and the Moroccan vision, driven by a firm determination to democratise sports practice and make it a tool for sustainable social transformation. It also confirms the pioneering role of the Kingdom on the African and international stages, at a time when football is more than ever a universal language serving the future.

With this project, Morocco is not merely building pitches. It is building opportunities, dreams and destinies.
