Moroccan Parliament to host the 5th Session of the Morocco–France Parliamentary Forum on January 29 and 30, 2026

The Moroccan Parliament will host, on January 29 and 30, 2026 in Rabat, the proceedings of the 5th Session of the Morocco–France Parliamentary Forum. This major session will be co-chaired on the Moroccan side by Rachid Talbi Alami, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Mohamed Ould Errachid, President of the House of Councillors, and on the French side by Gérard Larcher, President of the Senate, and Yaël Braun-Pivet, President of the National Assembly.

The program of the session includes four thematic meetings bringing together parliamentarians from both countries around key strategic issues. The first session will focus on examining “new prospects for bilateral cooperation”. It will be followed by a second session addressing issues related to “security, the fight against terrorism and organized crime”. The third session will tackle the theme of “women’s rights and participation in public life”, while the fourth will be devoted to the study of “energy transition and renewable energies”. These discussions will also see significant participation from several Moroccan ministers and senior officials from the relevant sectors.

Alongside the official sessions, the forum will be marked by intensive diplomatic activity and bilateral meetings between the two parties. The proceedings, which will take place in the presence of a high-level French parliamentary delegation comprising members of the Senate and the National Assembly, will conclude with the adoption of a final communiqué summarizing the main outcomes of the debates.

It is worth recalling that since its first edition held in Rabat in 2013, the Morocco–France Parliamentary Forum has built a distinguished track record of institutional dialogue. This was followed by a second session in Paris in 2015, a third in Rabat in 2018, and a fourth in Paris in 2019. The forum has thus established itself as a strategic platform for dialogue, consultation and the exchange of views between Moroccan and French parliamentarians, with the aim of coordinating positions and examining issues of common interest to both countries.
