Signing of the Partnership Agreement Between the Ministry of National Education and Samsung Electronics
A new addendum to the partnership agreement between the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports and Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arab was signed on Monday in Rabat.
The addendum, initialed by Ilham Laâziz, Director of Educational and Digital Resources at the Ministry, and Hong Seok Lee, President of Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arab, forms part of the implementation of the objectives of the 2022-2026 Roadmap. It aims to strengthen the integration of digital technologies within the education system and to encourage innovation.
The signing ceremony was also marked by the presentation of awards to the winning teams of the second edition of the national programming competition in the Python language, organized by the Ministry in partnership with Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arab. Twelve teams representing the different regions of the Kingdom took part in the competition.
The first prize was awarded to the team representing the Drâa-Tafilalet region, while the second prize went to the team from the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region. The third prize was won by the team from the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region.
In a speech delivered on the occasion, the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Mohamed Saad Berrada, stressed that the event falls within the framework of the “Samsung Innovation Campus” project, which aims to strengthen teachers’ skills in programming and artificial intelligence. He specified that the project enabled the training and certification of more than 261 teachers in programming and artificial intelligence during the year 2025.
In his address, read on his behalf by the Acting Secretary General of the Ministry, Hassan Qaddas, the Minister stated that “this exemplary partnership constitutes one of the pioneering initiatives in supporting digital teaching and learning.” He also highlighted the Ministry’s determination to encourage top-performing students in programming and to continue the Samsung Innovation Campus project through the signing of this new addendum, which will make it possible to keep offering certified training programs to teachers in the field of artificial intelligence.
In this regard, he praised the fruitful partnership with Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arab, as well as the company’s ongoing efforts to develop digital education and strengthen national skills.
For his part, Hong Seok Lee said that Samsung Innovation Campus represents the central pillar of the strategic partnership with the Ministry, noting that this cooperation has enabled thousands of students across the Kingdom to access modern technologies and develop their digital skills.
He also expressed the company’s pride in further strengthening its commitment in 2026, stressing that Samsung will continue to expand its artificial intelligence training program, convinced that this technology opens unprecedented opportunities for those who know how to harness its potential.
He finally emphasized that this partnership goes beyond the framework of corporate social responsibility to reflect a deep conviction that education is a key driver of progress, underlining the importance of equipping Moroccan youth with all the technological tools needed to compete and excel on the international stage.
It should be recalled that the Samsung Innovation Campus program is a long-term strategic partnership between Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arab and the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports. Launched in 2019, it has enabled the training and certification of more than 2,000 computer science teachers in Python programming, including 780 teachers trained directly by Samsung and 1,273 teachers through regional training centers.
