New Provocations by the Algerian Military Regime Along the Moroccan Border
The Algerian military regime has once again chosen the path of provocation and escalation by targeting Morocco’s territorial integrity. In the Ksar Ich area, within the province of Figuig, elements of the Algerian army carried out a hostile act reminiscent of the brutal methods already witnessed during the El Arja events in 2021.

According to consistent reports, Algerian military units illegally crossed the international border in an attempt to impose a fait accompli on Moroccan land that has historically been cultivated by local farmers. Algerian soldiers reportedly tore down fences installed by Moroccan farmers to protect their orchards, before attempting an improvised demarcation using stones and plastic bags, in what appeared to be a crude and deliberately provocative maneuver.
In response to this clear intrusion, the Royal Armed Forces reacted swiftly and firmly, forcing the Algerian elements to withdraw immediately. At the same time, Moroccan authorities activated an emergency security and administrative mechanism to secure the area and prevent any recurrence, once again demonstrating their vigilance and professionalism.
This latest hostile move places full responsibility on the regime in Algiers, which continues to multiply border provocations while hiding behind belligerent rhetoric aimed at concealing its own internal failures. Morocco, faithful to its policy of strategic restraint, refuses to give in to a logic of confrontation despite the seriousness of the acts committed. This responsible stance stands in sharp contrast to the adventurism of a military regime constantly seeking external tensions to divert the attention of its population.
These actions constitute a blatant violation of bilateral agreements and international law, particularly commitments related to border delimitation and the coordinated management of border areas. They are part of a pattern of systematic hostility, marked by repeated provocations, the unilateral severing of diplomatic relations, and the arbitrary closure of airspace.
The situation is all the more alarming as these incidents come shortly after tragic events near Béchar, where Moroccan nationals were targeted by the Algerian army. The accumulation of such incidents reveals a dangerous strategy of controlled escalation, driven by a military regime that is increasingly isolated, internally weakened, and unable to offer its people any vision other than permanent hostility toward its Moroccan neighbor.
In the face of these developments, Morocco maintains a clear position: absolute firmness in defending its territory, adherence to international law, and a refusal to be drawn into the provocations of a regime that instrumentalizes regional tension for political survival.
