His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Amir Al-Mouminine, Orders the Opening of 157 Mosques for Ramadan

His Majesty Mohammed VI, Amir Al-Mouminine, has ordered the opening, at the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, of mosques built, rebuilt, or restored by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs or by benefactors, totaling 157 mosques.

In a statement, the ministry specified that this includes 95 newly built mosques, 42 reconstructed mosques, 8 historical mosques, and 11 restored mosques.

The total capacity of these mosques reaches 160,000 worshippers, with an overall cost of 647.3 million dirhams.

The Sovereign also granted his high approval for the opening of the Mohammed VI Mosque and its annexes in the Chadian capital, N’Djamena.

Amir Al-Mouminine further approved that the Great Mosque of Hay Salam in Agadir be named after him. This mosque has a capacity of 3,600 worshippers and was built with a budget of 62.5 million dirhams.
