A fire broke out overnight from Monday to Tuesday at the United States Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, following a drone attack. The incident, confirmed by the Saudi Ministry of Defense, reportedly caused only minor material damage.

According to a spokesperson for the ministry, two drones targeted the American diplomatic compound, triggering a fire that was quickly brought under control. Saudi authorities indicated that the attack resulted in no casualties but caused limited damage to certain facilities within the building.

Witnesses in the vicinity reported seeing a large plume of smoke rising above the embassy, prompting brief concern in the diplomatic quarter of the Saudi capital.

Following the incident, the United States Embassy issued a security alert to its nationals present in the Kingdom. American citizens in Riyadh, as well as in the cities of Jeddah and Dhahran, were urged to remain sheltered and to follow the security instructions issued by the authorities.
