French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot Holds Talks with His Moroccan Counterpart Nasser Bourita
The French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, held talks today with his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, on the sidelines of the second World Nuclear Energy Summit organized by France.
During their meeting, the two ministers reaffirmed the importance of the enhanced exceptional partnership between France and Morocco and welcomed the strong momentum of bilateral relations. They also expressed satisfaction with the prospect of holding the fifteenth High-Level Meeting in Morocco.
The French minister also welcomed the holding of quadripartite negotiation sessions on Western Sahara, in the spirit of Resolution 2797, which provided a clear framework for the resumption of negotiations based on the Moroccan autonomy plan and under the auspices of the United Nations.
The two ministers also discussed the situation in the Middle East and the risks of regional destabilization. They finally addressed Morocco’s participation in the upcoming Africa Forward summit scheduled for May 2026 in Nairobi.
