CGEM Urges Private Companies to Grant Monday, March 23 as a Holiday for Eid Al-Fitr
On the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) has called on private sector companies to grant their employees a day off on Monday, March 23, whenever possible, in order to align with the decision taken for public administrations.

In a message addressed to economic operators, CGEM President Chakib Alj encouraged companies to follow the decision made by public authorities to grant this day of rest to public administrations and local authorities.
According to the CGEM, this initiative aims to allow private sector employees, as much as possible, to benefit from the same rest conditions as civil servants during the Eid Al-Fitr period marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Public administrations and local authorities will exceptionally observe a holiday on Monday, March 23, 2026, on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr. The measure falls within the regulatory framework governing public holidays in the civil service.
The government had previously announced the exceptional granting of a day off on Monday, March 23, 2026, for public administrations and local authorities in order to facilitate Eid Al-Fitr celebrations and travel for citizens.
